Workshops and Presentations

What Others Say:

Thank you so much for conducting our Teen Writing Workshop.  It was a great success!  The kids all loved the program, and you.  They didn’t want it to end!”- McNally Robinson Booksellers, Winnipeg, MB

Anita came to the North and captivated both students and teachers alike…She was able to keep 11 and 12 year olds enthralled for more that an hour, and they didn't want her to leave; she had teachers stop her in the hallways of the school to thank her for such a wonderful presentation. I would love to have her come back again.”- Pahkisimon Nuye?Ah Library System, LaRonge, SK

"Everyone was so thrilled with your presentation this morning!
Teachers have commented on what an excellent speaker you were and the
students are anxious to read your books
."- Linden Christian School, Winnipeg, MB

SCHOOL PRESENTATION Q & A FOR HOSTS

Are you willing to present to groups?
Of course!

If yes, what size?
From 2 to 200

Where? (locally, regionally, nationally)
Locally (Winnipeg), regionally (Manitoba), and nationally (anywhere in Canada). Travel, accommodations, and meals must be covered by hosts. In past, two or more schools have paired up to share costs, and this has worked well.

What kind of presentations do you like to give?
My presentations for middle grades are highly interactive, informative, and fun, often including props. All presentations include photos, either shown on 8 ½ X 11 cards for smaller groups, or as a slide show through laptop and projector.

What age groups?
Middle grades
Junior High
High school

Do you have a preferred venue for presentations? (school classroom, public library, bookstore, etc?)
I prefer a library or classroom for a cozier, more personal experience, but am also comfortable in a gymnasium or theatre-as long as audio visual aids are available and functioning.
